The site has had a number of updates in January 2022. These include An expanded Keep In Touch Section where we are publishing messages received in recent years (we didn't ignore them but we haven't always been able to deal with them properly).

In particular we have a new VIDEO section where we have two videos one made quite recently by Stephen Sklair Films about current life at William Ellis. Stephen has kindly given us permission to show the film on our website.

The second film was made by school staff and pupils in 1962/3 and outlines what happened in a typical school day.. In addition there is a lengthy section about the CCF. It is narrated by James Jackson. He also narrated a later film in the early seventies made by Peter Farrer, a friend of the school, who worked with a team of pupils including Peter Rowbrey-Evans, Peter McSparran-Edwards and Ben Weschke. We regret we cannot find a copy of the later film. so if anyone has one we can copy or knows where we might find one please get in touch.

We have also been lucky to receive a donation by Alan Knowles of his archive of CCF pictures from the early and mid sixties including an Arduous Training and Air Experience Flying.

The editor has been in sporadic contact with Paul Ernest an eminent Old Elysian who established and maintains a website devoted to the Witches Cauldron Coffee Bar in Belsize Park which many may remember. This includes some content which is not very complimentary to Sidney Baxter in particular and a number of other staff members. He also goes through what he and his friends got up to at the Witches Cauldron including some disreputable activities which are well off our normal piste. I have provided links to this material in the "Keep In Touch section" along with his own emails, for those who may be interested. Much of it is a fascinating period piece while Paul's own views are as deserving of airing as anyone else despite many, I am sure, not agreeing with him.

We intend to keep expanding our archival material so if YOU have any photos or even film of the school please let us know.
